Step into a world of Eastern promise with the Sakura Fortune slot by Quickspin. I played this for the first time recently and was thoroughly impressed with everything included. For a 2017 slot, it has a lot to look forward to, including 40 paylines, a stacked princess wild symbol and both respins and free spins. There may be some gamers who dislike the maximum win only being 400x and the medium to high volatility. If you play Sakura Fortune though, you’ll soon be captivated.
Are you right to be tempted by Sakura Fortune?
It’s understandable that such a visually impressive game with such a low maximum win is a bit of a dichotomy. Especially when you consider the medium to high volatility and 96.58% RTP rate. Yet stick with it, because you’ll have a fun experience spinning the reels.
Sakura Fortune boosts its general appeal with a set of stunning special features. Indeed, the graphics and animations also bring their own contributions, making it more aesthetically pleasing. The game also features a fantastic soundtrack, which fits in well with the base theme. Gameplay is also smooth and efficient, presenting enjoyable wins.
- Excellent base theme – Quickspin has perfectly executed this.
- Enjoyable special features, including respins and free spins.
- Wild stacks become sticky during the feature rounds.
- Only has a maximum win potential of 400x – remarkably low.
- Sakura Fortune can sometimes go to the extremes of high volatility.
Making your mark with your initial bet
Starting to play this slot game requires you to make an initial bet. Quickspin lays out all its slots with a simple interface, allowing you to adjust the wager easily. You can either use the up and down arrows next to the Total Bet box or click on this box. That displays a selection of bet values to choose from, which run between 20p and £100 per spin. Click on the one that stands out to you the most and is suitable for your bankroll.
After that, you can click on the large orange button in the bottom-right corner. This spins all five reels and then produces a spin result. As the Sakura Fortune paytable explains, you need to match three or more symbols on one or more of the 40 paylines from the leftmost reel to the right. This will result in a win.
Enjoying the eastern breeze and the special features of Sakura Fortune
As you play this slot, you will likely see some of the special features come into play. The first of these is the stacked wild, represented by the oriental princess. This can appear on the central three reels only and serves as a scatter as well as a wild. It substitutes for all symbols, helping you to form winning combinations.
The base game can also experience Bonus Scatter symbols. This is represented by the Asian fan. Three or more of these showing up on a payline from leftmost reel onwards triggers free spins. During this round, any wild landing on the reels will expand to cover the whole column and turn sticky for the duration.
Let’s say that two full princess wilds show up on the reels. This triggers the Sakura Fortune Respin function. You get two respins, with additional wilds showing up triggering additional respins.
What else is there to know about Sakura Fortune?
If you play this slot, then you need to remember that its maximum win is 400x your stake. That is a disappointingly low maximum reward, I have to say. Especially when you consider that it has an ideal RTP rate of 96.58%, according to official documentation from Quickspin.
Sakura Fortune serves as a medium to high volatility release, although when it goes high, it tends to go exceptionally high. This can be detrimental to a low roller’s bankroll, so make sure you are betting appropriate amounts. Consider all this information before you proceed with placing any bets in the game.
What do I think of the Sakura Fortune experience?
I actually enjoyed spinning the reels of this slot. It has a great setup, betting range and smooth gameplay. It’s not going to break the bank in terms of its maximum payout potential, which is a shame. Then again, it is a slot from 2017, which stands for something. I love the fact that it has stacked wilds and both a respins and free spins round, though.
Thematically, Quickspin has done a wonderful job on Sakura Fortune. It has stunning visuals and audio throughout. It would be nice if it had a higher maximum payout and a bit of a lower volatility level, just speaking personally. Yet overall, it presents a compelling and entertaining game to play.
